I believe that business journalism matters now more than ever. New Zealand Shareholders Association launched new business journalism awards on September 21, and I am proud to be in a judging panel.
NZSA chairman John Hawkins says that the awards will differ from the earlier ones as they will have no commercial sponsor support.
He comments that “the Association believes it is very important to encourage and improve business journalism in New Zealand because it plays a vital role in the efficient functioning of the capital markets including celebrating excellence as well as investigating less positive behaviours.”
