The NZ Herald, the largest newspaper in New Zealand, has put up a paywall. It is the first general paywall in New Zealand, the paper has employed a fremium model for its paid content.
New Zealand has a duopoly structure and print and online news market as the NZ Herald and Stuff dominate print and online news, and therefore it is interesting to see how many people will pay for the NZ Herald, and what happens to the site’s traffic. I shared some thoughts in The Conversation article and on RNZ MediaWatch programme.
